The Bangladesh Air Force Museum was founded in 1987 and rebuilt on a larger site beside the old Tejgaon airport, reopening to the public in 2014. Nearly everything is outdoors, which makes it an easy visit with children.
Aircraft flown by the Air Force stand on the lawns: MiG-21 and F-86 Sabre fighters, Gnat interceptors, Fouga Magister trainers, Alouette helicopters and transport aircraft. Among them is the Bolaka, the Dakota that became the country's first passenger aircraft in 1958.
Several aircraft and helicopters are open, so visitors can sit in the cockpit. The museum stays open into the evening and the grounds are floodlit.
