Bengal Foundation's arts centre in Dhanmondi: exhibitions, music recitals, talks and screenings — free and open to all.

About

Bengal Shilpalay is the Dhanmondi home of the Bengal Foundation, a private arts trust set up more than three decades ago by Abul Khair, who credits his uncle, National Professor Abdur Razzaq, with his love of the arts.

The foundation works across music, art, literature, crafts, cinema and architecture: exhibitions drawn from its own collection and from contemporary artists, music recitals and a school for classical music, a forum for independent film, and a publishing house.

Shilpalay gathers that work under one roof as galleries and event spaces. Since it began, the foundation's policy has been to keep its programmes free and open to everyone.
