Blockbuster Cinemas opened in September 2013 inside Jamuna Future Park at Kuril, one of the largest shopping malls in the region, and is run by the Jamuna Group.
Its halls carry names instead of numbers — Thrill, Iris, Transition, Montage, Exposure and Utshob — and a seventh, Club Royale, is the luxury hall. The programme mixes Hollywood releases in 2D and 3D with Bangla films, and the weekly schedule on the cinema's website runs from late-morning shows into the evening.
Ticket prices are not published online and vary by hall and seat class. The online-ticket hotline answers from 10 AM to 8 PM.
The country's first modern multiplex, opened in 2004: five screens on Level 8 of Bashundhara City, including a VIP hall and a Dolby Atmos hall.
