The National Museum of Science and Technology was established in 1965 and now occupies a large building at Agargaon, opposite the planetarium. It is run by the Ministry of Science and Technology and is built around exhibits visitors are meant to touch and work.
The galleries cover physical science, industrial technology, information technology, space science and biological science, with two Fun Science galleries of levers, mirrors, pulleys and illusions aimed at children, plus a virtual gallery.
Separate attractions are charged separately: a 4D film, a mirror maze, a virtual-reality booth, and sky observation through the museum's telescope on Friday and Saturday evenings for an hour after sunset, when the sky is clear.
Friday and Saturday hours are longer in summer (April to October) than in winter (November to March).
