The Sylhet centre at Alampur is one of BMET's government technical training centres, under the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, preparing people for work at home and abroad.
Its trades are automotive, catering, computing, driving, electrical, electronics, refrigeration and air conditioning, and plumbing and pipe fitting, alongside language courses in Korean, Arabic and Japanese.
Through 2026 it has run admissions for its Korean, Arabic and Japanese courses, for driving with auto-mechanics, and for short courses under the ASSET project, with places under the SICIP project as well. Applications are made online through the centre's admission site.
