English-language books, DVDs and IELTS material on the Dhaka University campus, with digital library access for members.
The British Council's Dhaka library sits at 5 Fuller Road, inside the Dhaka University campus, which puts it within walking distance of both the old city and the newer one.
The collection follows the Council's own subjects — English, the arts, education and society — and mixes print with digital. Members borrow books, periodicals and DVDs from the general and young-learner collections, and most memberships also open the digital library. The IELTS collection and Road to IELTS come with the entry-level Silver membership.
Membership is by application form at the library, with identification and a passport-size photograph. The library runs its own events and activities through the year, and stays open on Friday afternoons when most of the city's libraries are shut.
