The safari park opened in 2013 in the sal forest at Sreepur, about 40 km north of Dhaka and 3 km west of Bagher Bazar on the Dhaka–Mymensingh highway. Formerly Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park, it was renamed in late 2024 and is run by the Forest Department.
The main draw is the Core Safari, a bus ride through enclosures with lions, tigers, bears and several kinds of deer. On foot there are macaw and parrot aviaries, peacock and pelican aviaries, a crocodile area, a butterfly park, a natural history museum and a 9D theatre, each ticketed separately.
Know before you go: the park has declined. A Prothom Alo visit in March 2026 found the restaurants, observation towers, pedal boats and children's park closed, few buses with working air conditioning, and the zebras and giraffes all dead. Bring food and water.
