A small, perfect single-domed mosque of 1519 from Sultan Husain Shah's reign, in a village near Panam Nagar — with a carved black-stone mihrab.
An inscription dates Goaldi Mosque to 1519, in the reign of Sultan Alauddin Husain Shah, when Sonargaon was a great city. It is a fine example of the Bengal Sultanate's square, single-domed mosque, built of brick and stone, with unusual circular corner towers.
Inside, the central mihrab is carved in black stone with delicate floral patterns. The mosque stood in ruins and overgrown until the Department of Archaeology restored it in 1975.
It is about 1 km from Panam Nagar, in Goaldi village, and is still used for prayer.
